About the Team

The e-commerce industry has seen tremendous growth in recent years and has become a hotly contested space amongst leading Internet companies, and its future growth cannot be underestimated. With millions of loyal users globally, we believe TikTok is an ideal platform to deliver a brand new and better e-commerce experience to our users. We are looking for passionate and talented people to join our product and operations team, together we can build an e-commerce ecosystem that is innovative, secure and intuitive for our users.

In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

What You'll Do:

• Lead a team of experienced data scientists dedicated to the TikTok E-Commerce business in the U.S. This includes all aspects of the Ecommerce business, including merchant/creator/content supply, user growth, product, logistics, search, recommendation and more

• Cooperate with crossfunctional leaders, including Operations, GNE, Data Engineering, Algo, PM, and others to inform, influence, support, and execute business and product strategy

• Work with large and complex datasets to answer metric investigation with root cause analyses

• Apply technical expertise with quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and the presentation of data to develop strategies for our E-commerce product

• Identify and measure success of business or product efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring of key metrics to understand trends

• Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to improve the Ecommerce product, and drive roadmaps through your insights and recommendations

• Develop data pipelines and dashboards to enhance data infrastructure

• Develop ML models for causal inference to measure LTV

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or above, major in mathematics, statistics, computer science is preferred

• At least 5+ years of working experience in a senior data science role, and have a strong understand in e-commerce; product analysis is preferred

• At least 3+ years of people management experience required leading a large team

• Proficient in SQL/Hive/Python or R, experienced in massive data manipulation, machine learning & modeling

• Solid technical & knowledge of A/B testing methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Insightful data sense and rigorous logical mindset, capable of providing systematic approaches to solve business problems

• Excellent written and verbal communication skill

• An empathetic people leader, a problem solver, and fast learner who possesses the strong ability to work under pressure
