POSITION SUMMARY
Rush Solutions provides Site Protection services for a variety of clients. Our team plays a key role in the safety and security of people, property, and other valuable assets. Site-based security teams are trustworthy, personable, and take pride in their job. They provide customer service to our clients by applying best practices in safety and security standards, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities. RS team members respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise the activities of the assigned Rush security officers.
Support investigations of illegal activity, as needed.
Monitor and effectively use access control systems, visitor management systems, if any, and CCTV systems as needed.
Acknowledge all tenants and/or visitors upon arrival and when existing.
Ensure visitors and vendors are properly signed in prior to accessing the building.
Observe departing tenants, visitors, and vendors to guard against theft.
Direct staff in obtaining motor vehicle license plate check, as needed, on unfamiliar vehicles, and supervision of the removal of illegally parked and abandoned vehicles.
Address all escalated security issues or emergency situations appropriately.
Perform regular patrols (foot and/or mobile) throughout the facility including outer grounds.
Prepare reports on security activities and submit to Rush Field Supervisor.
Maintain access control procedures jointly agreed to by Rush Solutions and the client.
Assure employee grievances are heard and resolved – with assistance from Rush leadership.
Effectively and accurately post all pertinent notices and communications to staff.
Reconcile logs, shift responsibilities and patrols.
Enforce and adhere to post orders, site rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance.
Maintain operational procedures and post orders for emergency reference.
Participate in all company and site required orientation and training programs.
Maintain excellent attendance and personal grooming habits acceptable to Rush and its clients.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 30 years of age or older with a minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
Current or prior military experience, or college education in the security field desirable.
Minimum 5-7 years of professional-level work experience in a supervisory capacity. Prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, and/or military is highly desired.
Experience working in the inner city or urban environment is preferred.
Customer-oriented and able to de-escalate situations before they become hostile or unsafe.
Strong personal presence, credibility, and high integrity.
Provide the basis of a positive work environment by treating staff with respect.
Thorough knowledge of law enforcement principle, methods, and procedures.
Good knowledge of the best practices in supervision.
Ability to supervise team in a manner to affect high efficiency and morale.
Must possess the ability to maintain poise and self-control in stressful situations.
Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion. Must be able to interact with people in an urban environment.
Ability to successfully interact at all levels within the organization.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to write accurate concise, and legible reports.
Successfully clear background investigations and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test where required by the Rush Solutions and its clients.
Proficient with computers; and have good penmanship for written communications.
Maintain current/active status of all necessary registrations/licenses/permits required and must always carry the appropriate documents while on duty.
Reliable transportation to consistently get to and from work on time is required.
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations, and Permits
First aid and CPR training.
40-hour Security Training or former Military/Police training/experience.
Current and PERC and FOID registration/permit/license required by the State of Illinois. Other industry certifications/licenses/registrations may be required.
No felony convictions or dishonorably discharged from armed services of the United States.
Current state driver’s license, clean driving record as determined by Rush Solutions, and the ability to safely operate motor vehicle and/or bicycle if assigned to a location requiring such.
Physical and Mental Abilities
Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
Lift or pull 200 pounds with or without assistant.
Good day/night vision sufficient to identify people, items, and places in low light or at night.
Cannot be suffering from or being treated for mental illness, narcotic addition/dependence, or habitual drunkenness.
