Sustainable operations and environmental contract compliance are integral to the success of Aramark Destinations. Both areas support the mission and goals of our clients and internal Aramark goals for superior guest experiences and sustainable business operations. This position reports to the Director of Environmental Sustainability and Compliance and serves as a key field support for all environmental sustainability related programs.

Job Responsibilities As the Environmental Sustainability Program Manager, you will:

Work with the Director of Environmental Sustainability and Compliance to support Aramark Destinations sites with:

Implementing and maintaining sustainability standards as a minimum performance level.

Promoting environmental management and advancing sound environmental strategies – innovating to find new solutions to emerging issues.

Evaluating waste diversion and implementing zero waste strategies through reuse, source reduction, source separation, and diversion including commodity and organics recycling.

Developing and implementing strategies for reducing and eliminating single use plastic.

Developing and supporting TRUE zero waste strategies, data collection, reporting, and certification.

Evaluating waste hauler and recycling contracts to verify data integrity.

Accurately documenting and submitting mandatory waste and environmental impact reports

Establishing sustainability “green teams” to drive staff and guest engagement

Developing and implementing effective staff and guest communication strategies that drive sustainable behaviors.

Coaching and training for the managers regarding sustainability and environmental efforts.

Documenting sustainability success stories in the line of business for broad dissemination.

LEED Silver maintenance compliance.

Implementing integrated pest management practices.

Client, partner, and agency engagement, data, and reporting requests.

Compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, requirements, and corporate standards for environmental sustainability.

Achieving and maintaining ISO 14001:2004 certified Environmental Management Systems and developing annual plans for continuous improvement.

Identifying environmental aspects and impacts

Developing SOPs and operational controls to minimize and mitigate environmental risks.

Establishing environmental management teams to implement environmental controls

Ensuring that all employees and management are trained and that the training is documented as it pertains to corporate and ISO14001:2004 standards and requirements.

Maintaining environmental compliance as a minimum performance level.

Other roles and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Sustainability and Compliance

Qualifications A four-year college degree or equivalent experience in sustainability, environmental science, environmental management, or other degree that directly supports this position. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of clients and employees.

Experience

Experience leading environmental management and sustainability initiatives.

Operations experience at the management level. Multi-site experience preferred

Experience implementing ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.

Experience implementing zero waste strategies in an operational setting.

Demonstrated ability to drive results through partnership and collaboration.

Experience supporting natural resources preferred

LEED Green Associate preferred

Integrated Pest Management experience preferred

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills; brief writing experience preferred.

Planning, organizing, and effective time management skills.

Personal and professional integrity.

General business acumen.

Professional appearance and demeanor.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.

Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
