Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose for this full-time contractual position is to assist the Executive Director and the Board in drafting regulations ensuring that the Boards are informed about legislation and effectively representing the board during the legislative session and at work groups that relate to nursing practice. This position will require coordinating with all Board of Nursing Directors, units within the Department of Health, and committees of the General Assembly to develop and plan for regulatory changes. This position will represent the Board in work groups and prepare reports for the Board on legislation impacting nursing practice and the board's activities.\r\r\rThis position is eligible for hybrid telework after successfully being in the position 6-12 months, which is subject to approval from the supervisor.\r
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.\rExperience: Two years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.\rNotes:\r1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related fieldfor one year of the required experience.\r2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Doctorate degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related fieldfor the required experience. \r
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess:\r\r\r Experience with Google Suites and Microsoft office\r Experience working with the public\r Experience with managing stakeholder workgroups\r Experience conducting legislative research\r Experience with healthcare policy and regulation\r\r\r
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.\r

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.\r\r\rLeave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.\r\r\r\r
