Department Information
The Engineered Biosystems Building (EBB) serves as the focus for Georgia Tech's efforts to improve human health through an enhanced understanding of complex living systems. The building has co-located and integrated faculty and students from the Colleges of Sciences and Engineering. The research focuses on molecules, cells, organisms, and populations as a composite of the dynamically interacting biological systems and pathways. Together they control the manifestation of disease and determine the state of health. EBB is a shared services multidisciplinary organization. This position will operate in a shared services environment supporting multidisciplinary faculty and their research groups.
Job Summary
Supervise and coordinate administrative services within a large campus unit. Areas of responsibility can include administrative affairs associated with human resources, purchasing, budgets and financial records and general clerical support within the unit. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: unit management and staff. This position will supervise: assigned unit administrative personnel.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Develop and implement unit administrative processes and procedures consistent with overall Institute administrative policy
Job Duty 2 -
Define and communicate administrative staff duties; monitor performance and provide feedback
Job Duty 3 -
Supervise the maintenance of unit financial records
Job Duty 4 -
Oversee unit human resources administration, including transaction processing, time reporting and records maintenance
Job Duty 5 -
Supervise and coordinate direct administrative support to unit management
Job Duty 6 -
Organize and supervise unit records management function
Job Duty 7 -
Coordinate unit purchasing activities including preparation of purchasing documents, ordering and maintaining supplies, etc.

Schedule and organize meetings and other events
Job Duty 9 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
4 to 6 years of job related experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS
This position requires supervisory and organization skills, knowledge of general office administrative processes and practices, records management and event planning. Use of office related computer applications is required.

Other Information
Salary range: $61-759 - $79,000
Location: Hybrid (Atlanta, GA) - This position is currently 20-50% remote (subject to change). This position will share an office with one person.

Additional Responsibilities :
This position will be responsible for all research related hiring for the four schools that EBB supports, which includes foreign national hiring, postdoctoral fellows, temps, affiliates, etc.
Use of iStart system required for the hiring process.
This position handles graduate student hiring via GradWorks approvals, the ASC, and OneUSG
This position will oversee workload delegation within the administrative team, provide backup as needed, assist with direct administrative support to the faculty members and their research groups, etc.
