The Commercial Construction Business Unit Leader will build and maintain commercial landscape installation business through management of daily operations, estimating and sales.

Duties & Responsibilities: Drive the strategy of the department in alignment with support of the business units.

Conduct strategic review meetings for department (small group).

Ensure strategic activities and initiatives are being met/completed.

Examine financial performance and provide forecasting budget, report on goals and KPI’s.

Billing: Ensure monthly billing is invoiced timely and sent in timely manner to include Contracts, T&M billing, Change Orders and Textura.

Collections: Ensure that outstanding invoices are collected in a timely manner from clients.

Identify, initiate contact, develop relationships and close new Commercial Landscape Installation business contracts.

Develop strong relationships with customer base through clear and frequent communication, mutual trust and ability to meet the customer needs.

Develop win-win opportunities for the customer and the company.

Manage installation processes working with project managers. Evaluate by benchmark completion comparison to costs.

Assist staff with job costing of labor, materials, and equipment.

Build relationships with suppliers, development of purchasing budget and controls. Recommend / select tools and equipment.

Schedule daily, weekly and long-term projects while ensuring staffing levels for both labor and equipment are adequate.

Assist in weekly staff meetings for operational flow.

Review and negotiate bids as needed especially with specific clients.

Review and sign off on contracts for commercial properties.

Conduct routine training to maximize productivity, safety, and efficiency, and create a culture of exceptional client experience.

Across department, ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

Complete and submit all paperwork/billing in a timely manner.

Build a productive and cohesive team through training, coaching and mentoring.

Represent the company at various events, organizations and associations to build relationships that lead to new business. Act in capacity of a company representative and develop community ties to enhance public image and brand of the company.

Maintain positive relationships with other companies in the industry and related industries.

Participate in various industry associations to increase knowledge of marketplace, sales opportunities, selling techniques and best practices.

Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of industry trends to identify and act upon opportunities for expanded services.

Maintain complete customer and market awareness. Know where opportunity exists for improved customer service to current and prospective customers and opportunities for additional market penetration.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Horticulture, Landscape Maintenance or related field and/or a minimum of four years’ landscape maintenance experience in lieu of degree.

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations.

Must have a professional appearance.

Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Must pass background check consisting of employment history, personal/professional references, criminal record and drug screening.

Bilingual Spanish, highly desirable .

Certifications in Landscape Maintenance and Irrigation, highly desirable .

Knowledge of Customer Relationship Database (CRM) and Sage Software, highly desirable.

Must be willing to do things outside of your job description. All team members help and support other departments when necessary.

Physical Demands & Work Environment: Fun and casual office environment.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. (2 person lift over 50 lbs.)

This job is an indoor/outdoor job which will require time spent at a desk environment using a computer as well as exposure to unknown weather conditions.
