At Rocco’s European Garage, Service Advisors are the first and last point of contact with the customer. They work directly with the technician(s) to ensure the customer and his/her vehicle’s needs are met in an accurate and timely manner. They are responsible for scheduling appointments, maintaining an effective yet manageable schedule, preparing estimates for customers, and ordering parts as required. The Service Advisor role requires professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities & Duties for Service Advisor
• Greet customers and offer excellent customer service from intake to release of their vehicles.
• Translate customer-reported problems to actionable work orders for technicians to complete.
• Ability to interpret technician skill level and assign work accordingly.
• Use technician findings to build estimates to review with customers and sell the appropriate work.
• Sourcing & ordering the required parts and assigning to technician.
• Initiating returns when necessary within appropriate timeframe.
• Maintaining organized parts area.
• Ensure that automotive work provided to customers meets company quality standards.
• Invoice and collect payment from customers for services rendered.
• Handle and resolve customer complaints professionally, asking for manager assistance when needed.
• Maintain customer records and enter data into shop management software.
Qualifications for Service Advisor
• General knowledge and experience of automotive products, repairs and parts, preferably for European makes & models.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate customer needs to workable technician orders.
• Proper grammar in writing and speech.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Organizational skills including the ability to schedule appointments, manage workflow, meet with customers and ensure that work is done properly.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Basic mathematics skills to prepare and process bills and customer payment.
• Ability to communicate the required services/repairs on the customer’s level of understanding.
• Self-initiated continued education is advised.
