Your role in helping us shape the future:
U.S. News empowers everyone to thrive. As a Product Manager in our Education Vertical, you will work closely with a cross-functional team to guide the development of products and services from conception to launch. You will develop a strong and collaborative partnership with key stakeholders ranging from data science, data engineering and product leaders to high level members of the education industry and C-level executives at US News.
Your focus will be our school rankings and data infrastructure.
Are you up to the challenge?
Create and maintain the data product roadmap: Prioritizing initiatives, writing requirements, reviewing design and technical work, and measuring success
Identify opportunities for efficiencies and modernization our data infrastructure
Evaluate processes on an ongoing basis to identify areas for improvement
Oversee the release of our education rankings across multiple platforms
Collaborate with a cross functional team of engineers, analysts, and EDU product managers
Position Requirements
You should definitely have: Three years to five years of similar or related experience, inclusive of a minimum of 2 years experience as a software product manager
A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Experience defining and executing a product roadmap
Strong analytical and technical skills and comfort with statistical methods
Capability of establishing a shared vision across the company by building data-driven consensus on product priorities
Experience generating and producing cross-team and executive presentations to gain buy-in from stakeholders.
It would be nice if you had: Background in one of: Data Science, Software Development, Technical Project Management
Proficiency in STATA, Python, and SQL
Experience with QA management
Experience with education related data sets

The anticipated salary for this position is $100,000 to $120,000. Applicants will work a hybrid schedule in our Washington, DC office. Only local applicants will be considered. The actual base salary will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, interview performance.
