The Senior Buyer is responsible for procurement activities of electronic components, PCBs, sheet metal, fabricated parts and sub-assemblies to support the manufacturing of weight measurement and control systems. The Senior Buyer ensures materials are sourced, purchased, and delivered on time and to schedule within the guidelines of company and supply chain strategies.
**Roles & Responsibilities**
**This position has responsibility for:**
* Employs fundamental knowledge of supply chain and purchasing best practices to ensure material availability and support supplier development goals.
* Negotiate best terms (e.g. price, payment terms, delivery dates) with suppliers to obtain highest quality and best value to support build plans and production forecasts.
* Provide materials support by coordinating and scheduling material purchase orders based on MRP output and evaluation of reports.
* Actively participate in efforts to drive down materials costs and ensure availability and delivery of parts.
* Manage and influence non-conforming / underperforming vendors.
* Place, execute and track Purchase Orders (POs) on time.
* Responds to daily shortages.
* Manage exceptions as required to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Participate and lead Continuous Improvement efforts.
* Utilizes ERP tools to issue, manage and analyze purchase orders and blanket purchase orders to ensure compliance and cost requirements are met.
* Coordinate with Engineering, Product Management and Suppliers in support of new product introductions
* Ad hoc buying of other materials / products / services as required to support the organization.

**Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills):**
* Minimum of 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment
* Experience with MRP system(s).
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures, schematics, BOM, etc.
* Highly proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications (PPT, Outlook, etc.).
* Ability to create and maintain relationships with key suppliers, etc.
* Aptitude in decision making and working with numbers
* Excellent time management and or
* Additional duties as assigned
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Relevant Supply Chain certifications (APICS certification(s), CPIM, SPSM,CSCP, CPSM)
* Lead experience is preferred
**Education Requirements:**
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field

This job operates in a professional office environment and manufacturing work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
