Traffic Operations Engineer

Apply principles, methods, and techniques of traffic engineering technology as they relate to Traffic Signal Design, Intersection Design Studies (IDS), Signal Coordination and Timing Studies (SCAT), traffic crash analysis, traffic impact studies and various related areas
Assist with quantity take off and engineer estimates for Traffic and Civil Design projects
Perform the necessary calculations for accurate and complete design of project features
Coordinate with other departments and sub-consultants on the project design
Continually improve and develop knowledge of IDOT, CCDOTH, LCDOT and local agency requirements
Effectively communicate project status and timelines
Work to complete projects on time and under budget
Follow the department QA/QC process
Key Qualifications: B.S. in Civil Engineering with an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
0-4 years of experience
Working knowledge and experience with State and Regional regulations
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of MicroStation, and Traffic Analysis Software (HCS, Synchro, Sydra)
Valid driver’s license
