Job Description Job Description One of our local museum clients is looking for customer service/visitor service assistants to support their reopening efforts. In this position, you will be responsible for aiding visitors with timed entry, answering questions, and generally supporting museum operations. This job reports on-site, and requires some weekend work.
Role
Must be friendly, energetic, engaging, self-sufficient, comfortable with large crowds and excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment especially during peak seasons.
Duties and Responsibilities
Information and Mobile Desks:
Provide information about the Live Butterfly Pavilion, exhibits, educational programs, special events, etc. to visitors.
Answer visitor’s general and wayfinding inquires to the best of your knowledge.
Provide museum maps and collect a suggested one-dollar donation.
Butterfly Pavilion:
Check and scan tickets for entry to the Pavilion.
Provide rules to ensure safety of the visitor and the butterflies within the Pavilion.
Stand and observe visitors inside the pavilion for the safety of the butterflies. Answer visitor questions whenever possible.
Ensure visitors are being checked for butterflies on them before exiting.
General Responsibilities:
Facilitate educational experiences for visitors of all ages throughout the Museum.
Interact with visitors in exhibit and educational spaces welcome to diverse audiences and help them engage with Natural History content through collections, activities, and programs.
Adhere to museum, VE, safety, and security policies.
Stock and maintain organization of Museum information desks and Butterfly Pavilion.
Complete assignments efficiently and accurately with minimal to no supervision.
Adhere to the assigned daily and weekly schedules demonstrating flexibility based on the business needs.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the chief and VE coordinators.
