Job DescriptionJob Description
The Sr. Controls Engineer will work on systems that are used by engineers to develop or demonstrate new product designs or new technologies. These systems may be used by customers for their evaluation and verification work on new product designs and technologies.
Responsibilities
Design, Development, and Maintenance:
Lead and participate in the design, development, documentation, testing, maintenance, and enhancement of either embedded or PC-based software tools and products in support of Cummins products worldwide.
Customer and Supplier Interaction:
Work with customers and suppliers directly and through Customer Support groups to ensure that the products meet or exceed customers' needs.
Requirements Gathering:
Gather requirements through voice of the customer exercises.
Software Architecture and Development:
Architect, design, develop, apply, maintain, and improve software.
Technical Reviews:
Participate in and organize technical reviews of design, interface, and requirement elements.
Participate in and organize technical reviews of test plans, procedures, and reports.
Software Verification and Validation:
Perform software verification and validation, including software unit, module, integration, and system level verification and validation.
Problem Resolution:
Issue, analyze, and resolve problem reports and change requests as needed to produce high-quality software products.
Lab Support
Unplanned support in our engine lab to create and support solutions to problems that may arise during lab development of our valvetrain technologies.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or equivalent education/experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
5+ years’ experience required.
Experience designing software using Simulink model-based-design.
Coding capabilities using C/C++.
Experience using Javascript and LabView are is preferred.
PR: $57.14-64.28/hr
Hours: The working days are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with the times being flexible.
