General Summary:
The Digital Media Coordinatorassists in scheduling, maintaining, revising, and updating information, images,text and posts on the Zoo's various digital platforms, including the Zoo'swebsite. The coordinator will also beinvolved in assisting with content gathering and posting of information on theZoo's social media sites. This position reports to the Director of Marketingand Creative Services, and works in support of the Assistant Director ofMarketing and Digital Media.
Essential Functions:
Primary Function:
? Make text edits,image updates, and content changes to various pages of the Zoo's website underthe direction of the Assistant Director of Marketing and Digital Media;
? Routinely reviewwebsite text for accuracy and maintain/update relevant seasonal informationthroughout site;
? Gatherinformation and images to support website blog posts;
? Post pressreleases and news to the Zoo's website;
? Update calendarof special events and daily activities on the Zoo's website and mobile website;
? Assist withscheduling and posting on the Zoo's various social media sites as requested bythe Assistant Director of Marketing and Digital Media;
? Assist indrafting copy for newsletter email communications for Zoo followers to supportZoo's marketing initiatives;
? Respond to socialmedia and website inquiries with direction from the Assistant Director of Marketing and Digital Media;
? Maintain andupdate the Zoo's online photo library and search for stock imagery as needed;
? Take photos andvideos, as directed by the Assistant Director of Marketing and Digital Media,including collection animals, on grounds activities, community events, andpublic programs;
? Perform otherduties as assigned; and,
? Adhere to allpolicies and procedures of the Zoo.
Communication (Internal and External):
? Facilitatewebsite content requests from various Zoo departmental contacts as directed bythe Assistant Director of Marketing and Digital Media;
? Responsible forkeeping the Assistant Director of Marketing and Digital Media updated onproject status. ;
? Communicate withZoo employees via radio contact as needed following Zoo radio etiquette andprotocol at all times; and,
? Communicateeffectively with guests and staff, when on grounds, to support promotionalevents and on site content gathering.
Management of Resources (financial, human resources, facilities):
? Not applicable.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education:
? Bachelor's degreein marketing, new media, advertising, business, communications, and/or anotherrelated field preferred.
Experience/Training:
? Minimum 6 monthsof related professional experience;
? Two to three years working on mediaprojects preferred
? Valid driver'slicense;
? Proficiency withMicrosoft Office preferred;
? Experience withWordpress Content Management System or similar website CMS preferred;
? Working knowledgeof social media channels and content posting;
? Basic knowledgeof photography and video gathering techniques highly desired; and,
? Experience withAdobe Photoshop and other Creative Suite software preferred.

? Must be outgoing,creative and organized;
? Strongcommunication skills, both oral and written;
? Copy editingexperience a plus;
? Ability to workon tasks in a timely manner and adhere to project deadlines;
? Ability to workas a productive member of a team with limited supervision; and,
? Must be able towork a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
Equipment:
? Must be able tooperate a variety of machines and equipment including computer, telephone,radio, golf cart etc.
Working Conditions:
? Must be able tostand and remain active for an eight hour shift;
? Must be able towalk large areas of the Zoo as needed;
? Must be able towork in an outdoor weather environment in all seasons and weather, includingheat/humidity, cold temperatures, and/or wet conditions;
? Ability to work aflexible schedule to include weekends, holidays, and special events; and,
? Must be able toexert up to 35 pounds of force to lift, push, pull, carry, or otherwise moveobjects.
