Position Overview:
The Recruiter owns our talent acquisition efforts and ensures we attract the best candidates to join our team. This role involves managing end-to-end recruitment processes, collaborating closely with hiring managers, and building relationships with prospective candidates. You will also be working with the Talent Development team on other employee experience initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manage the entire recruitment process, from requisition to offer acceptance.
Candidate Sourcing and Networking: Proactively source candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, industry events, and networking.
Candidate Assessment: Review resumes, conduct initial phone screens, coordinate, and conduct interviews with candidates, ensuring a thorough evaluation of qualifications and cultural fit.
Interview Coordination: Schedule and coordinate candidate interviews with hiring managers, providing guidance on interview techniques and best practices.
Candidate Experience: Ensure a positive candidate experience by providing timely communication and feedback to candidates throughout the recruitment process.
Reference and Background Checks: Conduct reference checks and coordinate background checks as part of the candidate evaluation process.
Offer Management: Prepare and extend job offers, negotiate compensation packages, and collaborate with People Operations.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a recruiting coordinator, providing guidance, support and professional development opportunities.
Metrics and Reporting: Implement Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and reporting mechanisms to track recruitment success and provide insights for continuous improvement.
Employer Branding: Promote Backroads as an employer of choice by crafting compelling job descriptions and engaging recruitment materials.
Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and report on recruitment metrics.
Compliance: Stay informed about employment laws and regulations, ensuring that recruitment processes remain compliant.
Talent Pools: Build and maintain talent pools and pipelines for future hiring needs.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes and contribute to ongoing process enhancements.
Collaboration: Partner with hiring managers and People & Culture colleagues to understand staffing needs and align recruitment strategies with business goals.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Drive DEI initiatives within the recruitment process to build a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Vendor Relationships: Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies, job boards, and other talent acquisition partners.
Other People and Culture projects as recruiting volume ebbs and flows.
Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years of recruiting experience
Proven experience in full-cycle recruitment, with a strong track record of successfully sourcing and placing candidates.
Proficiency in using recruitment metrics and data analytics to drive decision-making.
Proficiency in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other HR software.
Self-driven with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities.
High level of professionalism and integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong candidate relationships.
Knowledge of current recruitment trends, best practices, and sourcing techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a dynamic business environment.
A commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion within the recruitment process.
Workday experience preferred but not required.

Salary Ranges:
$70,000.00 - $110,000.00
At Backroads, we uphold a commitment to transparency and fairness within our hiring process, particularly regarding compensation. The salary range posted for each role applies to both employment offers and employees actively working in the role.
New hires are typically offered a starting salary between the minimum and midpoint of the range to ensure there is continued opportunity for salary progression during your employment at Backroads, reflecting our commitment to rewarding ongoing dedication, high performance, and significant contributions to our team. This approach not only supports our budgeting strategy but also our intention to foster an environment that encourages long-term growth and strong relationships between Backroads and our valued employees.
Our office roles are onsite in our Berkeley headquarters, unless specifically noted as 'available for remote'. We do allow one work-from-home day a week, as well as one work-from-anywhere week per year. This pay range is intended for in-person work in our Berkeley, CA headquarters. Pay ranges for remote-eligible roles will be subject to adjustment based on the geolocation of the employee.
