Frontend Software Engineer - Infrastructure Tools
We are looking for an experienced frontend engineer who will help us to develop and improve capacity planning and infrastructure management tools. You will play a critical role in increasing the productivity and operational efficiency of multiple teams by providing them with UX that they will use in their day-to-day tasks.
Your projects will range from adding a feature to an existing web application, or re-factoring user permission admin panel, to creating a full-fledged new app, e.g. one that displays a multi-month forecast of capacity exhaustion process.
What You'll Do
Implement UI features on top of our internal/external API
Improve robustness of the existing UI React components and hooks
Transform legacy web-applications to modern stack-based apps
Work with data and API engineers to create new tools
Collaborate with stakeholders on solving their problems with new tool features
What We're Looking For
2+ years professional experience as a front end developer writing React components
Expert Javascript/Typescript experience
Solid knowledge of HTML/CSS concepts
Experience using various REST API endpoints
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, readiness to give and receive constructive feedback
We’ll be super impressed if you have any of these:
Experience in developing data visualization or data-intensive UI
Experience using Tailwind CSS Framework
Programming in other languages, especially Go, Rust, or Python
Any experience using WASM modules
Understanding of complex distributed systems (including but not limited to “how does a CDN work?”)
Work Hours:
This position will require you to be available during core business hours and may require future participation in on-call support rotation. Candidates outside of New York should expect to work hours that have significant overlap with the Eastern time zone for team collaboration.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.
Salary
The estimated salary range for this position is $133,200 to $166,500.
Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
