**Job Summary:**

Answer phones making appointments, responding to patient and referring physician queries; applies managed care rules to ensure that patients have correct information related to pre-certification rules, preps for studies. Responsible administratively to the Practice Administrator.

**REQUIRED TRAINING:** HIPAA, OSHA

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**

- Make appointments for patients and referring physician offices following facility protocols, screening patients medical history as appropriate.

- Transfer calls and take messages as required forwarding to the appropriate person as needed.

- Maintain professional telephone decorum.

- Retrieve orders from CROWN as required.

- Respond to all insurance related questions.

- Verify and input patients demographic and insurance information including contact information.

- Confirm appointments a minimum of one day prior to appointment.

- Respond to patient and referring physician requests including faxing reports when asked.

- Obtain clinical information from Imagecast/Crown as necessary in response to referring physician or patient requests.

- Communicate with the radiologist and technologist regarding schedule changes.

- Act as a liaison for the referring community assisting or directing questions as required.

- Validate and verify pre-certifications by reviewing schedules.

- Verify insurance coverage of schedules patients as assigned.

- Other related work as necessary.

- Conforms to all applicable HIPAA, Infection Guidelines and safety guidelines.

**Position Qualifications:**

Minimum Education: High School Diploma

Minimum Requirements: Minimum 0-2 years of physician practice experience, radiology preferable; excellent interpersonal and communication skills
