Tenured or Tenure-Track Faculty Positions, Fall 2024 - Computational Engineering - UT Austin

Description The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at The University of Texas at Austin has two tenured or tenure-track faculty positions beginning Fall 2024 in the area of Computational Engineering . This search is conducted jointly with the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences. We are interested in all areas of computational engineering, with particular emphasis on the broad areas of computational mechanics, numerical methods for partial differential equations, and high-performance computing. The first position is a 100% appointment in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics with the option of an affiliation with the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences. The second position is a joint position that will have 50% teaching duties in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics and 50% in the Oden Institute's Computational Science, Engineering and Mathematics graduate program. Both positions are open to applicants at all ranks: assistant, associate, and full professor, including the possibility of appointment as a chaired professor for candidates with exceptional qualifications.

Qualifications Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in engineering or a related field. The successful candidate will be expected to create undergraduate and graduate learning environments that address the needs of students from a variety of backgrounds, with differing learning styles and abilities. Further, the successful applicant will be expected to develop an externally sponsored research program, mentor graduate students, collaborate with other faculty, and be involved in service to the university and profession.
