T eam Rubicon (TR) is seeking a Manager, Operations (West Branch) . The Manager, Operations (West Branch) will lead a motivated team of associates and provide support to volunteer leaders in the daily execution of organizational goals and objectives . This requires a detailed understand ing of all specific functions within the Operations Department. This Manager will have a solid knowledge of the incident command system and expertise in local c apacity building, volunteer management, and executing operations in response to local disaster s Th e Manager, Operations (West Branch) will lead a large and diverse team of staff and volunteers across a wide geographic area with the mission of delivering Team Rubicon ’s s ervices to vulnerable and underserved communities .
Every day will be a challenge, but every month brings new opportunities to help people and communities respond to, recover from, and mitigate against disaster . This position reports to the Director , Operations (West Branch) and is based remote in Colorado.
Duties:
Leads Associates and volunteers in capacity building, growing local relationships, disaster-based operations, and encourage s cross-functional collaboration and management of Operations Support team .
Develop team performance goals and objectives , offer specific feedback on individual performance, and solicit feedback regularly .
Lead program delivery of the leadership lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, and development of volunteer leaders .
Support operations across geographic branches during times of surge to fill operational support gaps .
Execute purchasing and expenses according to the Branch budget plan .
Assist with planning and budgeting according to Branch operational t empo.
Experience and Background:
5-7 years of relevant professional experience in the military, disaster response, emergency management or first responder fields
Proven record of personnel management experience such as recruiting, managing, training, and developing employees and volunteers
Proficient with technology tools and in remote working for communicating and coordinating with a large network of TR staff members, Greyshirts (volunteers) , and external stakeholders
Successful past performance in leading volunteers is highly desired
Special Requirements:
This is a full time; r emote and the position can be based out of the following location : Denver Metro Areas (CO ) and provides a flexible & non-traditional work schedule (relocation expenses not provided)
Evening and weekend schedule supporting leadership meetings, video conferences, events, and operations
Local Travel: Reliable transportation is required . The person filling this position will be expected to travel within their local area to support ongoing efforts
Other Travel: At least 25% non-local travel to support broader organizational activities focused within the assigned territory
