Responsibilities

As a Finance Business Partner at ByteDance, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our monetization efforts through strategic financial support and partnership. You'll collaborate closely with business units to identify opportunities and develop robust business cases, focusing primarily on our third-party partnerships and e-commerce platforms. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of influencing decision-making in rapidly changing environments and possess the strategic and analytical acumen to manage the financial complexities of our dynamic business landscape. This role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional financial modeling skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the resilience to thrive in a high-velocity setting. Adaptability to new analytical frameworks and product innovations is essential. Regular engagement with various business units will require outstanding interpersonal and communicative prowess.

Key job responsibilities

* Effective Business Partnering: Actively engage with department heads and team leaders to foster a culture of financial awareness and transparency by:

* Regularly sharing financial insights and performance metrics to influence strategic decision-making.

* Facilitating cross-departmental discussions to address financial opportunities and challenges, ensuring collaborative budgeting and fiscal management.

* Implementing best practices in financial reporting, making data accessible and understandable to non-finance stakeholders.

* Financial Planning Leadership: Lead the financial planning process by:

* Coordinating the development and execution of annual and semi-annual budgets with business unit leaders.

* Implementing robust forecasting models to predict financial performance accurately.

* Regularly reviewing budget allocations and expenditures to ensure strategic priorities and financial health are aligned.

* Operation Optimization: Enhance operational efficiency by:

* Identifying and implementing improvements in financial planning, tracking, and control processes.

* Analyzing current operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions.

* Working closely with senior management to deliver actionable insights and recommendations that support strategic decision-making and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: in FP&A or related roles within rapidly growing sectors, including managerial experience across geographies and time zones.

Leadership and Business Acumen: Proven ability to operate effectively as a finance business partner, with a strong record of influencing outcomes and driving results.

Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in financial modeling, analysis, and data interpretation. Must be proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills; ability to simplify complex findings into understandable terms. Strategic thinker with a detail-oriented approach and the capacity to work autonomously or in team settings across global markets.

Preferred Qualifications

Background in tech, e-commerce, or monetization sectors preferred.

Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is advantageous.

Global Experience: Prior experience in global organizations, working across different geographies and time zones.

Professional Certification: An MBA or CPA is highly regarded.
