Responsibilities
What you'll be challenged to do:
TranSystems Boston office is looking for a Bridge Design Project Manager with proven leadership ability and significant experience and demonstrated technical excellence in planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of bridge design projects for MassDOT or other New England DOT’s.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for overall project management and delivery including scope development, contract negotiations, staff management, invoicing, progress reports, delivery, quality, safety and client satisfaction.
Monitor, manage, and communicate project performance (financials, schedule, quality, and risks) to all internal and external stakeholders.
Communicate with, and attend meetings with: clients, project team firms (subconsultants), and other project stakeholders.
Tracks project progress and ensures completion within established time frame and budget.
Assures QC is completed on managed projects per the latest company QC manual.
Interacts with personnel throughout the company, subconsultants, clients and contractors.
Assist in updating monthly workload projections and workload management.
Lead/assist with proposal development and making presentations, based on client expectations for project pursuits.
Prepare and/or review reports, design/contract drawings and specifications.
Prepare and/or review construction cost estimates.
Research different design options, code requirements and present findings.
Provide team leadership. Plan, lead and mentor staff level engineers in the performance of project tasks.
Grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model.

Participation and leadership in professional/technical societies and present at industry conferences.
Other duties as may be assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications
What you bring to our firm:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from a 4-yr accredited college or university.
10+ plus years of progressive experience in design and management of bridge projects for MassDOT.
Candidates must possess strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.
PE license in at least one state and ability to obtain licenses in additional states as projects may require.
Experience with engineering design packages such as AutoCAD.
Ability to lead a design team on multiple concurrent assignments.
Project management and contract administration experience.
Experience in the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and presentation skills.
Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm:
Experience working with Massachusetts, Connecticut, and/or Rhode Island DOTs.
Strong relationships within MassDOT, MBTA and various other local public agencies.
