Pinpoint Talent has an immediate hybrid work opportunity (2 to 3 days in office per week) for a Vice President, Controller with one of our most innovative clients in the biotechnology industry. As our client’s Vice President, Controller, you’ll lead critical finance operations, oversee accounting functions, and provide strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and success.

~ Top Requirements of the Vice President, Controller ~
Preferred candidates should demonstrate proficiency in managing directors and leadership teams.
While experience in the biotech/pharma/medical device sector is advantageous, a diverse industry background will be considered.
CPA certification and prior public accounting experience are mandatory.
~ What You'll Do as a Vice President, Controller ~
Lead growth initiatives and develop finance operations, processes, and systems to support company scaling.
Manage general accounting functions, including oversight of monthly and quarterly close processes, accounts payable, payroll, and equity plan administration.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of internal and external financial statements, SEC filings, proxy statements, and offering documents, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
Manage SOX 404 compliance program and consultants, maintaining internal control structure.
Develop technical accounting memos and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
Prepare materials for Board of Directors and Audit Committee meetings.Collaborate with operational teams to ensure cross-functional efficiencies and accurate accruals.
Ensure integrity of financial systems, including interfaces with payroll, equity, and expense management systems.
Develop and maintain compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
Manage relationships with external auditors and SOX internal auditors, ensuring timely delivery of audit data.
Proactively implement process improvements, including system enhancements and policy changes.
Provide cross-functional support for special projects, system improvements, or ad-hoc financial analyses.
Coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
~ What You’ll Bring to the Vice President, Controller ~
CPA and B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required
15+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in a public company
5+ years of Big 4 audit experience required; experience in biotech/life sciences and manufacturing preferred
7+ years of experience leading people managers and providing mentoring, coaching, and development
Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley control structures
Proficient in managing external service providers to meet objectives and budgets
Collaborative approach to dealing with business issues and articulating technical matters
Demonstrated emotional maturity and ability to facilitate change in a dynamic environment
Detail-oriented yet able to delegate effectively
Possesses a sense of urgency and initiative in problem-solving
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making
Results-oriented with a strong drive to meet and exceed goals
Demonstrated change leadership and proactive problem-solving skills
