Job Description POSITION SUMMARY & REQUIREMENTS Relentlessly drive technology-enabled process innovation and automation initiatives surrounding accounting, financial and reporting processes and controls, leveraging digital tools and capabilities to optimize financial operations.
Champion the development and mentorship of the finance and accounting team, including a specific focus on building digital finance competencies, such as;
Understanding technological solutions and approaches (ex. robotic process automation);
How these solutions can be used to automate processes;
The knowledge, skills and abilities required to implement and optimize such solutions; and The mindset of embracing technology and new ways of working. Lead and direct the Company's finance and accounting functions, ensuring precision, compliance, and transparency in all financial reporting.
Develop and implement risk tolerance informed, streamlined and scalable financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets, and elevate efficiency.
Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements, ensuring strict adherence to relevant Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory standards.
Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to drive financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Monitor and dissect financial performance, identifying trends and offering insights to guide informed decision making by senior management.
Manage cash flow, treasury activities, and capital expenditure in alignment with our growth trajectory.
Spearhead the audit process, fostering collaboration with external auditors and ensuring the timely completion of audit engagements.
Stay at the forefront of evolving financial regulations and industry best practices, enabling compliance and proactive adaptation.
Maintain and increase professional and technical knowledge by on-the-job training, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Support compliance with the company quality standards, FDA regulations and guidance, applicable EU Medical Device directives, applicable ISO standards, and other pertinent country specific medical regulatory requirements.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Required Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
A minimum of eight years’ progressive finance and accounting experience, including a minimum of five years’ financial closing experience and a minimum of three years’ experience managing people.
Experience working with or in a publicly traded company, with a strong understanding of GAAP, SarbanesOxley Action (SOX) compliance, and the unique financial reporting requirements, regulatory compliance and governance standards associated with being a public company.
Strong background in financial analysis and reporting.
Experience in coordinating, and facilitating annual financial statement audits, and managing the company’s audit-related processes and deliverables.
Experience with inventory / manufacturing accounting, and equity and debt accounting.
Proficiency in financial systems and ERP software.
Bonus Master’s degree.
Certified Public Accountant.
Experience in the life sciences industry.
Direct involvement in preparing a private company for an Initial Public Offering (IPO), including leading financial due diligence, assessing the company’s financial health, identifying potential issues, and ensuring that financial systems and controls are robust enough to meet public company standards.
Experience managing change within finance departments and adapting to the increased demands of being a public company, including adjusting processes, systems, and teams to meet the reporting and compliance needs of public markets.
Experience supporting and working in Tableau.
Experience with NetSuite.
Experience implementing or upgrading financial systems to support the needs of a public company related to enhanced reporting and compliance capabilities.
Experience implementing technology initiatives such as robotic process automation and building related digital finance competencies within finance and accounting teams.

Highly motivated, independent, and self-directed style.
Highly proficient with technology platforms, including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and in mobile/cloud resources including CRM software (preferably Salesforce), ERP software (preferably NetSuite), and data analytics platforms (preferably Tableau); comfortable learning new technical systems as needed such as Box, Zoom, Slack, Smartsheet, and Concur.
