About the Role
The Vice President - Chief Operating Officer is a strategic leader responsible for defining and aligning the vision, priorities of the hospital with the business strategy at the local, regional, and system levels. This role is pivotal in driving innovative organizational improvement, ensuring physician involvement and satisfaction, and collaborating with the facility CMO and CNO to achieve balanced scorecard performance. The Chief Operating Officer will also lead change initiatives, optimize the organization's potential, and ensure that operational and business objectives are met. Strong analytical and relationship building skills are essential for this position, as is the ability to develop high-level strategies to address new trends in payment structures and healthcare economics.Candidates for this role should have a Master's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years' of operational leadership experience. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated transformational leadership skills, experience in managing complex projects, and a strong blend of management and technical expertise. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and proven leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion are also required. Knowledge of industry issues such as accountable care, insurance, and regulatory guidelines is essential. The Chief Operating Officer will be expected to implement the organization's vision and values, provide strategic direction, and ensure the efficient delivery of patient care while aligning with the system's strategic goals.
