Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a VP of Finance / Controller. The VP of Finance / Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who is a self-starter looking to take the next step in their career and make a meaningful impact within a growing organization.
Construction industry experience is required for this position. Experience with the implementation of a cross-platform ERP system for an organization within the construction space highly preferred. Special consideration will be given for applicants with direct MS Dynamics Business Central 365 experience.
Qualifications
Strong background in financial planning, financial statements, and finance
Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data
Experience in financial reporting and analysis
Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
Proficiency in financial software and systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Experience with Microsoft Suite, notably MS Excel (proficiency with VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables required)
Experience in the construction or renewable energy industry is required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, with at least 10 years of experience in a financial/accounting role
Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of financial plans, policies and procedures
Develop financial models and strategies for long-term and short-term financial performance
Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, budgets and forecasts
Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts, including the management and oversight of AR and AP (customer invoicing and payment processing, vendor management and processing of all vendor invoices)
Develop and maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions
Ensure that the financial objectives of the organization are met
Develop performance metrics to measure and track the organization’s financial performance
Analyze financial risks and provide advice to senior management on mitigating these risks
Assist in the implementation of MS Dynamics Business Central 365 ERP system
Work closely with CFO and outsourced accounting team to ensure the timely delivery of above responsibilities
