This is a hybrid position . You must live within a commutable distance to one of our NC office locations.
WithersRavenel is seeking a highly self-motivated GIS Analyst II with the skills and experience necessary to provide geospatial support and solutions for water, sewer, and stormwater utility clients. The candidate will work in a professional environment with a team of engineers and GIS professionals. Candidates should have the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, including those from both technical and non-technical backgrounds. Candidates will have a solid understanding of GIS and proficiency editing utilities using ESRI software to deliver high quality results for our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
Technical
Perform a range of GIS tasks at an advanced level, including creating, editing, and managing GIS datasets and creating project-based map layouts on short notice
Perform high level analysis of multiple sources of data via ESRI ArcGIS software suite
Develop geodatabase schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals
Develop and support web GIS applications using ESRI Web App Builder, Story Maps, Field Maps, Collector, Survey 123
Read and interpret as-built, record, and other engineering documents and make appropriate edits to water, sewer, and stormwater data to include attribute and geometric updates from plans, record drawings, or incorporate data collected in the field
Guide collaboration with team members for consistency in work products including establishing repeatable workflows and QA/QC processes
Perform quality control checks via various GIS-related software such a Data Reviewer
Project and Client Management Participate in project meetings and create subsequent documentation
Assist Project Managers in the budget and schedule management of the technical aspects of projects
Assist in communications with clients per PM direction
Communicate with Project Managers regularly and proactively about project and technical details; communicate any significant technical challenge, deviation from procedures and metrics, or incidents that occurs on projects

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications 5 or more years of experience in the field of GIS
BA, BS, or AAS in GIS, Geography, Computer Science or GIS related field
Fundamental understanding of water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities or willingness to attend training to learn
Highly proficient in use of GIS-related software, products, and services to include extensive experience with ESRI software, specifically ESRI ArcGIS Pro v3.x
GIS Application Experience to include Model Builder, Web App Builder, Story Maps, Collector, Field Maps, or Survey 123 within the ArcGIS Online Platform or Portal
Ability to organize work, establish priorities, meet established deadlines, and follow up on assignments with little direction
Experience with high-accuracy survey grade GPS data collection and post-processing
Knowledge of GIS as it relates to land development, local government, and public works
Actively working towards certifications in GIS related competencies or GISP
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications ESRI Certification
GISP Certification
Experience with CAD products including AutoDesk Map or Civil 3D
Understanding of hydraulic modeling software requirements for data attribution and connectivity
Experience in developing automation within the ArcGIS environment using scripting languages such as Python
Working Conditions
The assignment will require occasional evening and weekend work, infrequent job site visits outdoors, and working in collaborative, fast-paced, and client-driven environment.
Physical Requirements
The assignment may occasionally require repetitive physical tasks (such as operating a computer), standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time, extended time travelling in a vehicle, and carrying equipment and materials up to 25 pounds.
