Purpose The Marketing Associate supports the day-to-day operations of the Texas Performing Arts Marketing & Communications department. By providing excellent administrative support, the position allows the team to achieve its core objectives more efficiently: driving ticket sales, developing new audiences, and promoting and amplifying institutional initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities Administrative Operations in Marketing

Create media orders and traffic the receipt and delivery of marketing materials between advertising outlets and internal stakeholders including advertising materials, digital assets and beyond.

Coordinate production and manage distribution of advertising materials across all types of media.

Collect required documentation including invoices, proof of performance, and other related materials to prepare accurate and organized show advertising settlement packets for every event.

Assist with the collection of data, key performance indicators and other analytics to help the department continuously optimize campaigns. Assist with creating actionable reporting including but not limited to ROAS reports, web analytics, email performance, digital conversion and beyond.

Process and reconcile invoices in a timely fashion to ensure compliance with university accounts payable and TPA-specific procedures to facilitate timely payment to vendors.

General Marketing & Communications Support

Draft compelling and effective copy for events to be used across paid, earned and owned media including the TPA website, email campaigns and digital advertising. Assist with the team's quality assurance process to maintain up to date and accurate content.

Ensure that TPA's digital assets (including the TPA website, social media accounts, various event calendars) are up to date and accurate.

Complete basic graphic design including resizing of digital assets and creating customized content for email and social media marketing.

Distribute printed collateral on and off campus as needed.

Manage in-venue signage calendar and assist front of house with deployment and maintenance of signage and collateral.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications At least 3 years of marketing related experience and a Bachelor's Degree

Excellent communication skills and a detail-oriented mindset.

Ability to multi-task and process large amounts of information with high levels of accuracy.

Demonstrated copywriting ability.

Demonstrated time management skills.

Proficiency with office technology such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Slack, and Zoom

Familiarity with social media including an understanding of best practices around Meta Business Suite.

Familiarity with digital marketing including web site optimization and email marketing.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications At least four (4) years of marketing-related experience.

Experience working for a performing arts presenter or other public facing cultural institution (art museum, music promoter, venue, festival, theater, etc.).

Good understanding of the live arts ecosystem of central Texas.

Excellent copywriting, proofing, and creative optimization abilities.

Familiarity with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud.

Demonstrated proficiency with digital media advertising.

High-level understanding of Texas Performing Arts mission and programming as it relates to peer organizations in Austin and throughout the country.

Strong commitment to the mission and vision of Texas Performing Arts.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Driving Required This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range $50,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions This in-person position is based in Austin, Texas and requires full-time residence in the greater Austin area. This position may allow for occasional instances of remote work on a very limited basis.

Work Shift Standard work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
