Engineering Manager, Hotel Saint Vincent

Description

MML is expanding at a steady pace. We currently manage and own the 75-room Hotel Saint Vincent in New Orleans, and we have two hotel projects in development in Aspen and in Austin that we will also own and manage. In addition to the nearly twenty restaurants, we currently operate or have under development, MML is also the F&B consultant at the Austin Proper Hotel, overseeing three restaurants, banquets, and in-room dining across the property. MML has a unique plan to own and operate each of its properties and the financial backing to only take on special projects in places we want to spend time.

We are looking for a team member who is energetic, detail-oriented, analytical, rigorous, highly organized, and passionate about hospitality. The Engineering Manager will oversee product engineering operations and ensure proper engineering procedures are followed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Plans and coordinates the work of engineering staff.

Oversees engineering staff and ensures that they meet goals and objectives.

Recruits additional engineering staff as needed.

Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

Provides training and mentoring as needed

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reviews, revises, maintains, and implements the organization's fire prevention, safety, and security policies and procedures.

Conducts inspections to identify fire, safety, and security risks; recommends and implements solutions.

Conducts risk management audits and asset loss investigations.

Coordinates with local law enforcement and safety staff as required to support and/or conduct investigations and prosecutions.

Drafts and submits reports and work orders related to fire, safety, and security operations.

Oversees the hotel's safety and security operations department.

Conducts performance evaluations for security staff that are timely and constructive.

Reviews, revises, maintains, and implements the organization's fire prevention, safety, and security policies and procedures.

Oversees parking operations, including issuing parking decals, permits, and citations.

Coordinates with local law enforcement and safety staff as required to support and/or conduct investigations and prosecutions.

Drafts and submits reports and work orders related to fire, safety, and security operations.

Consults with the General Manager to create long-range operating and manufacturing goals specific to the needs of the organization.

Develops new products from concept to testing to production.

Collaborates with the marketing department to determine the market potential for new products.

Oversees progress and timeliness of projects.

Reviews project reports to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.

Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

Specialization and certifications in at least one of the following: Kitchen Equipment, Plumbing, or Electrical

Natural Disaster Preparedness

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required

At least five years of related experience are required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Extensive technical knowledge of engineering and product development.

Excellent financial skills and ability to analyze financial data.

Proficient in Google Suite, Ticket Systems, and similar software.
