As the team expands operations, they seek a highly qualified and experienced Senior Manager, Quality Control to join the team.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Manager, Quality Control to lead our Quality Control team. The Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality control operations, ensuring that our products/services meet or exceed established quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control, team leadership, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control Leadership: Lead and manage the Quality Control team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure optimal team performance.
Quality Standards: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control standards and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement within the quality control department, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Quality Audits: Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to monitor adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
Supplier Quality: Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain rigorous supplier quality control processes, including inspections and audits.
Quality Metrics: Define and track key quality performance metrics, analyze data to identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all quality control activities comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as production, research and development, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless coordination and communication regarding quality control issues.
Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of quality control team members.
Budget Management: Manage the quality control department's budget, including cost control and resource allocation.
Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or other science disciplines
10-12 years of experience in QC/QA preferably in a cosmetic or personal care products company; additional experience in regulatory is a plus
5-7 years of related supervisory/management experience to include building and developing teams
Must have 5-7 years’ experience as an active participant with cosmetic-centric FDA audits
Must be a practitioner of and have a solid understanding of regulations surrounding cosmetics including US-FDA, FPLA (Fair Packaging and Labeling Act), FDC (Food, Drug, &Cosmetic Act), EU Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009, and Health Canada
Familiarity with notification streams including US & Canada OTC’s, Health Canada CNF, and EU CPNP is beneficial
