Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our operations team as a Sourcing and New Product Development Manager. This role will be responsible for leading sourcing initiatives and managing the development and launch of new products, ensuring they meet quality standards, deadlines, and budgetary requirements.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Sourcing:
Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate capabilities, and assess market trends and pricing dynamics.
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential suppliers to ensure a robust and diversified supply chain.
Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, including pricing, payment terms, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
Analyze supplier proposals and contracts to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
New Product Development:
Lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution of new product initiatives from concept to launch
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to conceptualize, design, and prototype new products that meet market demands and customer needs.
Establish and enforce rigorous quality standards and processes throughout the product development life cycle
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors for key components and materials
Project Management:
Develop project timelines, milestones, and budgets to ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to product development activities, including project status, expenditures, and performance metrics.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay abreast of industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to product safety, labeling, and compliance.
Ensure that all new products meet regulatory requirements and obtain necessary certifications and approvals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related Advanced degree preferred.
3-4 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, new product development, project management, or operations within a manufacturing or consumer goods environment.
Strong analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and project management tools
Contract manufacturing experience
