Our technology team has maintained a primary focus onthe Financial Aid Services portfolio since its late nineties\' inception,encompassing comprehensive, matured, data-intensive applications to ensurecompliance with various federal and institutional regulations. About the Opportunity
As our Senior Staff Engineering Director, you are a servant leader who putsan emphasis on driving positive, data-oriented results. Your unwaveringcommitment to customer service fuels your enthusiasm to spearhead and bolsterinnovative solutions for the institutions and students we are dedicated toserving. You will lead a highly engaged engineering team, workingcross-functionally with product and design teams to manage a technologyportfolio of services supporting multiple product lines in the Financial AidServices domain. You will provide oversight on the execution of multiplemission critical initiatives to advance the portfolio while ensuringoperational excellence on the current service offerings. Your analytical andinnovative mindset, coupled with your creative problem-solving abilities,empower you to swiftly grasp the business challenges we address and thetechnical patterns we employ. You will leverage your established track recordof consistently delivering on commitments to foster the organization\'s evolution and expansion.
In this role, you will:
Strategy, Leadership and, Communication (40%)
* Partner with program stakeholders in strategic positioning andmodernization of College Board products and services
* Stay abreast of the disruptive trends in the technology and highereducation domain, innovate and employ cutting edge technologies to enhancethe value proposition to our constituents
* Define/refine a vision, roadmap, and process framework to build,manage, and operate a suite of complex applications, including but notlimited to home grown, SaaS, API solutions in (responsive) mobile andweb platf
* Develop credible plans to build the technological and operationalcapabilities focused on the value delivery, operational excellence, andsecurity of the identities, assets, and data
* Provide thought leadership and direction throughout the product lifecycle(technical operations, technology delivery methods and practices, andappropriate compliance and policy standards) to the successful outcomes
* Establish and maintain internal (Enterprise Architecture, InformationSecurity Office, Risk & Compliance, etc.) and external partnerships(Technology and Staffing vendors) to optimize the executions and ensurealignment with enterprise vision, standards, and guidelines
* Communicate key decisions, risks, and barriers to the executivesteering committee for resolution
* Exhibit behavioral styles that convey confidence and derive respect fromothers; Represent the College Board in alignment with our values
Team Management (25%)
* Build high performing teams and maintain team morale; inspire and sustainteam cohesion and engagement
* Own and develop the culture of the team, centered around collaboration,empowerment, recognition, and professionalism
* Lead, develop, inspire, and manage a team of senior technologists andengineering leaders, effectively engaging them in goal setting,performance evaluation, and career/skill de elopment activities
* Ensure and inspire a culture that celebrates diversity, equity, andinclusion
* Evaluate and adapt the structure of assignments and work processes to bestfit the evolving needs of the portfolio
* Identify, create, and implement learning opportunities for the team
