Overview: The Head of Asset Management - Vice President, Asset Management leads the asset management team, providing strategic direction and implementation for a portfolio of multi-family and commercial assets to optimize property performance. The VP, Asset Management directs all aspects of Buckingham’s asset management policies, objectives, and initiatives. Additionally, the Vice President, Asset Management will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and presenting recurring and ad-hoc internal and external financial and asset management reports and analysis. The VP, Asset Management is responsible for reviewing and high-level oversight of annual budgets, capital budgets; monitoring performance and proposing creative solutions to property management leadership for issues including cash flow and financial performance. In addition, the VP, Asset Management supervises the Director of Commercial Real Estate. Qualifications: Training/Education Bachelor’s degree required. Finance, Real Estate, Business, or Economics preferred
MBA preferred
Experience/Skills Minimum of 10 years of broad-based property management experience, with at least 5 years in multi-family
Minimum of 5 years of proven asset management experience in the real estate field preferred
Institutional fund experience preferred
High degree of knowledge of property operations, contracts, leases, leasing objectives, and capital expenditures
High degree of experience in budget planning, high level financial reporting and profit and loss responsibility
Experience in financial concepts, analysis and projections including ROI, IRR and discounted cash flow modeling
Excellent computer skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office, Excel. Yardi and modeling software is a plus

Responsibilities: Manage, improve, and refine the asset management structure for the company.
Supervise the Director of Commercial Real Estate to maximize revenue and meet owner’s objectives.
Responsible for all facets of the portfolio’s asset performance as the owner’s representative.
Conduct oversight from an ownership perspectiveof the property operations, including monitoring asset performance against general market/competitor performance, budgeted targets, and long-term plans.
Strategically participate in setting direction, revenue, operating and capital budgets for the portfolio to meet investors goals.
Review monthly financial statements, annual budgets, capital budgets and monitor performance and propose creative solutions to management leadership for issues including cash flow and financial ratio issues.
Review progress in operations and business plan implementation with Senior/Executive leadership and Vice Presidents of Property Management.
Ensure regular asset management property visits occur as required and reporting of results provided to management leadership.
Analyze long term financials, cash flow projections, asset valuations, risk analyses and future profit projections.
Ensure cash position is tracked for each entity within the asset management portfolio.
Prepare, review and present recurring and ad-hoc internal and external financial and asset management reports and analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
Maximize fund value through strategic value analysis and devise sell/hold strategies for each asset.
Analyze, execute, and monitor value enhancement programs for assets in the portfolio.
Manage assets effectively with collaboration from other departments.
Make recommendations to senior/executive level management on portfolio strategy acquisition, rehab, capex, and disposition opportunities.
Strategically oversee capital budget decisions.
Track debt maturities and lender mandated financial covenants such as loan to value and debt service ratio coverages.
Maintain awareness of local markets and competitive property set. Engage with real estate peers outside of the company.
Coordinate and deliver responses to investor questions on the portfolio.
Maintain external relationships with investors, banks, lenders, property management leaders and other third parties as required.
Maintain current knowledge of the local markets for the portfolio including economic or other drivers that may impact performance.
