Leadership forHealthy People and Communities The Medina County Health Department, a nationally accredited health department, has an opening for a COMMUNITY HEALTH INTERN .
The selected student will receive hands-on training, education and experience to include, but not limited to:
Completes assigned projects to promote Health Department services across various promotional venues, and web-based and social media platforms.
Participate in planning health education initiatives, including but not limited to, tobacco prevention, drug overdose prevention, safe communities, and preparedness (Medical Reserve Corps).
Minimum Education, Training and/or Experience Needs:
Must be a full-time or part-time college student with a minimum 2.5 GP
Major program of study in Health Education, Marketing, Social Media, Graphic Design, Public Health or approved degree where this internship experience is a requirement of their major or would be beneficial to their education in their program of study.
Requirements:
Available to work during the summer months.
Be able to lift up to 40 pounds, work in a moderate noise level environment, occasional outside work or operation of a vehicle in inclement weather, and may work for extended periods of time viewing a computer monitor or operating a keyboard
Have reliable transportation, a valid Ohio Driver’s License with safe driving history, and proof of auto insurance
Successfully pass a B.C.I. Background Check and Reference Checks
Good health, high moral character, and good attendance record
