Job Title: Director of Information Technology (IT)
Job Summary: The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for evaluating, building, securing, and managing information technology infrastructure, operations, and staff according to the company’s established goals and objectives. The Director of IT continually analyzes the technological requirements of the company’s business and scientific systems and collaboratively contributes to establishing the strategies and policies necessary to meet those requirements while also ensuring efficient and effective technical support service.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate, develop and implement technology infrastructure, operations, and staff that align with organizational objectives and priorities.
Collaborate with senior leadership, business system owners, and external partners to identify and address IT requirements.
Ensure the efficient and effective delivery of technical support services for business and scientific systems.
Maintain and improve IT security, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Manage and maintain IT budget, resource allocation, contracts, and vendor relationships.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency, security, and performance of the IT infrastructure.
Maintain knowledge of emerging trends and advancements in information technology and ensure their potential adoption at the company.
Recruit, train, manage, mentor, and evaluate IT staff.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in IT management with a proven track record of successfully managing information technology programs and staff.
Expertise in IT infrastructure, operations management, security, and data management.
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Experience in budget planning, resource allocation, vendor management, and IT procurement.
Ability to translate complex technical information into layman's terms for non-technical staff.
Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or pharmaceutical industry a plus.
