Operations Manager Role Summary
Our client seeks a Director of Operations to join their rapidly growing team. The Director of Operations is responsible for organizing and completing client-facing projects, ensuring all assigned projects are executed effectively and efficiently, and providing excellent service to our customers. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can provide timely and concise information to various cross-functional teams.
Key Results Areas Understands the people, processes, and the technology of Supply Chain & Logistics
Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports and exports, and customer issues
Successfully evaluate operations and identify strategies to improve the team culture, implement processes, and offer suggestions for improvements on those processes
Integrate and partner with clients, displaying customer-centricityto improve associate safety and experience, operational efficiency, quality, and costs
Partner with client leadership to implement change and drive results
Display good listening and observation skills. Comfortable communicating in person and through documents up and down a client’s organizational chart to transmit intent, requirements, process, progress, updates, and results
Use the appropriate tools to observe and measure operational processes and collect data to drive recommendations and decision-making
Available to travel to meet the needs of customers’ onsite locations
Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Logistics, or other related field; Master’s degree preferred
At least seven years of distribution experience, with at least 5 of those years in a supervisory role in warehousing
Proven excellence in Operational Management
Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
Previous experience using project-related technology
Strong organizational and time management skills
Prior experience in ERP system conversion (SXe/CSD implementation)
Team-oriented, creative, highly driven, and self-motivated
Exceptional analytical, project management, and leadership skills
Experience in a LEAN Environment; Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
Travel 70-80%
