Who We Are: This position is a cyber governance role that leverages a multi-disciplinary skillset to pursue creation and maintenance of technologies, frameworks, policies, metrics, agreements and other governance functions to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the SwRI's systems and data.
Objectives of this Role: Manage the IT risk assessment program.
Assist leadership in authoring and updating security and governance policies.
Manage cyber metrics and reporting.
Assist Purchasing and Subcontracts in contract review.
Exception and policy deviation processing.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Evaluating the Institute’s compliance with cybersecurity controls and frameworks.
Author and track Plans of Actions and Milestones to bring security controls into compliance.
Support risk management activities by operating the Institute’s IT risk management process.
Assist in developing training, standards, and guidance to support cyber governance processes.
Support audit functions by interpreting control requirements and gathering artifacts.
Aid in the generation, gathering, and reporting security metrics to drive direction of the cyber group; assist in the creation of security risk and metric reports provided to management.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelors in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems or related degree field.
3+ years: Experience in any of various IT and security functions (E.g., cybersecurity, IT administration, coding, IT audit, paralegal or contracts management, IT GRC).
1 years: Knowledge of information security standards, E.g., CIS Critical controls and the NIST 800-171 or 800-53.
1 years: Exposure to/understanding of the fundamentals of network and systems administration (e.g., Windows Server and desktop, Linux, TCP/IP, network subnetting).
A valid/clear driver's license is required.
Special Requirements: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
