Job Description
Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for an Engineer Software 4 to support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE) Joint Staff (JS) J7 contract at our Suffolk, VA Joint Staff Complex. The qualified candidate will have experience working in an engineering capacity.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
Ensures software standards are met. Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Minimum Qualifications
9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements
1. Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word.
2. Experience working in Defense Industry, Joint Training Environment, or Exercise Planning.
3. Knowledge/experience using Confluence/Atlassian & Gitlab.
Physical Requirements
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements Software Engineer family.
