The employeeagrees and understands that his/her services are a necessary part of TheArmy's religious purposes and his/her work-related conduct must notconflict with, interfere with, or undermine such religious programs or TheArmy's religious purposes.Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Divisional Secretary for Business (DSB). theDivisional Finance Director (DFD) oversees the financial affairs andaccounting of The Salvation Army Intermountain Division. The DFD givesleadership and supervision to the Finance Department and is responsible foraccounting, planning, and reporting for the corps units within theIntermountain Division. The DFD is a member of the leadership team and willhelp to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting as required.Duties and Responsibilities:The DFD is the assets custodian of the Division and is responsible for allaspects of financial management and accounting including but not limited to:Acts as an advisor to the Divisional Commander and others in management onmatters of fiscal policy and management of the division.Keeps management apprised of financial, personnel and other situations thatwill contribute to valid management decisions.Responsible for the oversight of management reporting including financialstatements, audits, and budgets.Provides oversight of accounting procedures throughout the division to ensurecompliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, FASBrequirements, and Salvation Army policy to ensure accuracy, validity,and consistency of accounting practices.Oversees all accounting within the division internal bookkeeping systems,fiscal co trols, and management systems.As a member of Command Finance Council (CFC). will provide interpretationof financial data and procedures.Functions as the Secretary for CFC.Present items pe1taining to requisitions, budgets, and audits for reviewby CFC.Personally direct the physical and electronic recording of the minutesimmediately following the Council meetings.Provides oversight of the development of reports that will communicatefinancial summaries in a valid but easily understood format for non-financialmanagers.Develops and recommends appropriate fiscal operating changes as needed andprovides account analysis and maintenance procedures in accordance with statedpolicies and procedures and compliance with the requirements of fundingsources.Works with field units to resolve accounting problems and provide training offield unit personnel in a variety of aspects of accounting.Maintains a relationship with external and internal auditors, includingpresentation of audits and the authorization of audit fees and costs.Prepares allocation schedules for the Denver Metro units. This includes but isnot limited to endowment earnings, Special Appeals and other fund-raisingrevenue. Submit to CFC for approval as a part of the annual budget process.Conducts or assists with internal audits as needed.Act as the liaison and secretary for the Denver Metro Advisory Board FinanceCommittee.
