The Human Resources Generalist is accountable for contributing to the development of HR department goals, objectives, and systems to align with company objectives. These responsibilities involve achieving the tasks below among others as assigned by the company, requiring skills such as taking the initiative, working well independently as well as a part of a team, having sound judgment and a strong sense of urgency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
Conduct full-cycle recruitment including sourcing, prescreens, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions at relevant locations.
Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Assisting with the update and revision of job descriptions.
Conducts reference checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Corporate Director of HR.
Maintains and organizes all employee files/records following HR best practices and HIPPA requirements. Maintains all I-9’s to be compliant with state laws.
Interpret and explain company policies and procedures as well as HR- related laws and regulations.
Research market in terms of competitive compensation.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
Payroll experience a plus.
Bilingual – Spanish a plus.
Excellent clear, effective, and responsive verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

Available to work flexible full-time hours including weekends, holidays, and special events
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Minimum two (2) years of human resources or related field experience preferred.
Hospitality industry experience a plus.
