Job Description
1. Promote a safe, cooperative and professional health care environment to ensure optimum patient care (as per HR Policy 113c).
2. Adheres to all hospital policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including but not limited to, absenteeism, ETIME, cellular telephone usage, dress code and rules of conduct.
3. Makes Customer Service a priority, treating customers (patients, visitors, and co-workers) in a professional manner exercising courtesy and tact. Effectively communicates with patients and others about SBH services in their area(s) of expertise or responsibility and ensures that concerns, questions or issues reach the right person(s) in SBH in a timely fashion.
4.Ensure that the department policies, decisions, and actions demonstrate
regards for the rights, dignity, respect and confidentiality of all patients,
family members, visitors, and employees.
5.Monitor and review the works of employees to ensure that productivity
and quality standards are maintained.
6.Keep current with pre-certification and information requirements for
insurance, and patient billing. Monitor the documentation process
related to all necessary forms, records and registrations to ensure they are
processed accurately and timely for maximum reimbursement for services
rendered by the facility.
7.Communicate changes in the philosophy, goals, procedures, plans, and
activities of the departments to the staff in a timely manner.
8.Maintain accurate routine and statistical reports on productivity and
backlog to ensure patients’ accounts and records are processed timely and
accurately.

9.Coordinate on-going training to staff to instill-in and challenge them to
improve competency levels on specific job procedures and techniques.
10. Monitor the department’s staffing schedules to ensure both appropriate
coverage and equitable distribution of employee time off, work, and
overtime assignments
11. Ensure that problems, complaints, and regulations are investigated and
appropriate action is taken.
12. Maintains physician ‘s schedules, cancellations, patients scheduling, and re-scheduling and notifying all appropriate departments.
13. Works closely with other managed care plans in evaluating the needs of
the members.
14. Meets when necessary with the Assistant Director of Ambulatory Care
to discuss various concerns involving the functions and problems related
to the Ambulatory Care Department.
15.Reviews the registrations on a daily basis to ensure accuracy of data
obtained.
16.Monitor the dispositions to ensure they are processed accurately and
timely for maximum reimbursement for services rendered.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required- High school diploma or equivalent
License(s) Required-N/A
Experience/Skills Required- Two (2) years registration in an ambulatory care setting
PC Proficient with knowledge of Medical Terminology
Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) required
