In line with our growth trajectory, we are actively seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our team for overseeing major roadway projects in Nassau County, LI.
Key Responsibilities:
Reviewing plans for new construction and repairs of existing roads and road surfaces
Providing supervision for concrete testing, including the procurement of cylinders, slump, and air content field tests
Maintaining meticulous daily inspector reports and material quantity records
Monitoring construction schedules throughout the project lifecycle
Ensuring the accuracy and approval of all deliveries
Reviewing reported concrete and asphalt yields for precision
Issuing notices to Contractors and recording time and materials for disputed work
Leading discussions with homeowners to address their concerns
Acting as a liaison between municipal clients, engineers, and contractors
Examining road and utility repairs for compliance with plans and specifications
Ensuring adherence to federal, state, and city codes regarding building plans, materials, and safety procedures
Performing other assigned duties
Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
Thorough understanding of construction principles and methods
Preferably, NICET Level III certification for Asphalt, Concrete, and Soil Testing
Ability to conduct inspections and provide professional assessments
Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Possession of NYS PE License is advantageous
