The Musicology program is a highly collaborative, multidimensional unit of the School’s Academic Studies Division offering Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.

Minimum Position Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
· Ph.D. degree in Musicology to be completed by August of 2024;
· The successful candidate will have a rich understanding of one or more subfields beyond the primary area of expertise;
· Demonstrated potential for scholarly research leading to peer-reviewed publications and presentations at the national/international level;
· The accomplishments of candidates for this position must reflect their commitment to working with an inclusive student population, and their ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and collective mission, vision and operating standards of the School of Music.
Preferred Qualifications
· Successful record of collegiate teaching experience
· Documented record of scholarly achievement, including publications, presentations, or creative output;
· Those applicants with interests in art music of the 20th and beyond, vernacular music, or early music are especially encouraged to apply.
Special Conditions
Responsibilities:
· Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music history. This will include electives and graduate courses in the area of expertise and across the spectrum of the history of music.
· Direct or supervise theses and dissertations for Ph.D. and D.M.A. students.
· Pursue scholarly research resulting in regional, national, and international visibility in publications, presentations, and other peer-reviewed outputs.
· Engage in School of Music, College, University and professional service.
