Your responsibilities will include preparing complex tax returns, providing strategic tax planning advice, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. This role requires a high level of expertise in tax accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns in compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
Research and interpret tax laws to ensure accurate and up-to-date compliance.
Identify tax planning opportunities and potential risks for clients.
Client Interaction:
Communicate directly with clients to gather necessary information, address inquiries, and provide tax-related guidance.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and timely communication.
Tax Planning:
Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize clients' tax liabilities.
Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations to proactively advise clients on potential impacts.
Supervision and Mentoring:
Supervise and mentor junior tax accountants, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
Review the work of team members to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments within the firm, such as audit and advisory teams, to provide comprehensive client services.
Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance overall firm effectiveness.
Continuous Learning:
Stay current with industry trends, emerging tax issues, and technological advancements to enhance personal and team knowledge.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree or CPA preferred.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on individual, corporate, and partnership taxation.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
