The Dealer Sales Specialist acts as a company ambassador to automotive dealers within the assigned market area. It is the responsibility of this position to expand company market share by signing new dealers, developing existing relationships, and increasing awareness and adoption of the companys lending program(s). The role will report to a Regional Sales Director
* Build and expand the assigned territory by identifying and signing new dealerships
* Make regular dealer visits, cold calls, and take inbound calls from dealerships to build relationships and capture business
* Educate dealers on the company lending program(s) and how to maximize the value of the program(s) for their individual dealership
* Maintain high quality customer satisfaction and retention of dealers
* Participate in special projects as needed
* Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management
* Bachelor's degree required. Internal candidates at the Coordinator (C3) level with commensurate GLS experience and a track record of sustained, top performance against company standards may be considered
* Intrinsically self-motivated to take initiative and achieve business goals
* Exceptional interpersonal skills: friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others and build strong relationships
* Exceptional oral and written communication skills
* Team player that can adapt in a fast pace and changing environment
* Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of internet and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn new computer applications as required

**Employment Requirements for an Area Sales Manager:**
* Must be able to pass a criminal background check
* Must possess a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record
* Talk and hear to exchange accurate information
* Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
* This is an exempt level position whereby business need will dictate the exact work schedule which should be expected to vary at times
* Must have the ability to operate from a home office
* This position does require extensive travel both in a vehicle and by air; travel is to be expected 75% of the time, with overnight travel and extended hours
