JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an analyst with strong programming skillsets and a keen interest in economics to join Energy Research team within Commodities Research. The Energy group focuses on developing forecasting models across energy markets - including demand, supply and prices - as well as framing the ongoing energy transition. As alternative data is becoming the new standard, an analyst will help us manage increasingly large and complex datasets and models.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Building and maintaining proprietary datasets used in modeling
Developing bespoke statistical models to forecast supply, demand and price changes for energy commodities
Performing fundamental research, modeling macroeconomic and microeconomic trends and events and their impact on the markets
Writing reports about our research views and presenting them to internal and external clients, from corporates to investors
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Master’s or undergraduate degree in quantitative finance, economics, data engineering, statistics, computer science, or other quantitative field of study (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
Strong analytical background with advanced programming skills (Python highly preferred) and experience in econometrics/data science
An enthusiastic researcher/model builder with a proven capability for original and differentiated research
Strong economic intuition and interests in financial markets
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to interact with global stakeholders
Ability to work in a team-based environment and adapt to a dynamic organization
