D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Accounting Manager- Financial Reporting . The right candidate will perform a variety of accounting functions with limited supervision by being able to identify issues, research, and develop solutions by applying a strong understanding of accounting principles. Collaborate in a team environment to produce financial reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepare month-end and quarter-end close spreadsheets
Prepare weekly operational reports for management
Prepare quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations
Assist with the quarterly preparation of the 10Q/10K documents
Prepare audit leads and supporting schedules
Update the consolidated warranty accrual model
Document Income Statement and Balance Sheet account fluctuation analyses
Research and report on the financial performance of industry competitors
Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
Interface with internal and external auditors and provide assistance as required
Document and adhere to internal control procedures
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as requested
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
Three to four years of related experience and/or training
Understanding and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Solid understanding of financial statements and internal controls
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers (clerical to executive management)
Initiative and ability to work with limited direction
Must successfully manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
Proficiency with MS Office and email
Preferred Qualifications
CPA preferred
Big 4 accounting experience preferred
Advanced Microsoft Excel experience preferred
Homebuilding industry experience using JD Edwards, especially G/L, is a plus
