Account Executive / Senior Account Executive

DKC Public Relations, LLC is a multi-discipline and diverse public relations firm, which represents clients in a multitude of fields including corporate, entertainment, hospitality, lifestyle, sports, non-profit, medical, and government. DKC’s Hospitality and Lifestyle Division is looking for a hard-working, organized individual with a strong interest and experience in travel, hospitality and lifestyle publicity.

The Account Executive or Senior Account Executive has clearly demonstrated an aptitude for media relations in the context of the clients’ strategic imperatives, and an ability to create written materials in support of comprehensive media relations programs. Candidate must have a strong interest and expertise in the realm of travel, F&B, and lifestyle.

Specific requirements are as follows:


Must be able to thoroughly understand clients’ strategic imperatives/business objectives and actively participate in the development of strategic plans, communications programs, etc.

Must be able to offer senior DKC staff and — where appropriate — the client opinion and direction during the development of strategic plans, communications programs, etc.


Must be proficient in the creation of all press materials such as pitch letters, press releases, fact sheets, bios, etc. in accordance with the client’s strategic objectives, brand identity, etc.

Must be proficient in the creation of internal and external documents such as memoranda, client updates, etc.

Must be able to direct subordinate staff on the creation of all materials and serve as a buffer to the team leader.

Media Relations/Publicity

Must have deep relationships at multiple levels at major national and Los Angeles-based traditional and new media outlets as well as outlets relevant to his / her clients.

Must be able to implement – with significant autonomy outside of regularly scheduled meetings – impactful publicity with the frequency, size and outlet reach necessary to accomplish the client’s strategic imperatives / business objectives.

Must be able to get the big hit

Must take responsibility for creating and executing forums, sessions, social engagements, etc. where fellow DKC colleagues can meet and/or develop relationships with relevant members of the media.

Client Service

Must meet all deadlines under any circumstances and must comport him/herself with professionalism (appropriate dress, punctuality, preparation, etc.)

Must be able to communicate clearly, comfortably and in an informed/prepared manner with senior DKC staff and independently with clients on a daily basis.

Must instill confidence in senior DKC staff and clients.

New Business

Must show a willingness to learn about originating new business, participate in new business sessions and take part in pitches.

The ability to originate new business is not a requirement at this level but is looked at favorably.
