Chief Program Officer

The Position
Under the supervision of the CEO, the Chief Program Officer (CPO) oversees all of the primary components of The PLACE’s programs, including an emergency youth shelter, street outreach, drop-in center, and several housing programs. The CPO is a key leadership position responsible for the strategic planning, development, and execution of the organization's programs and projects. The CPO works closely with other executive team members to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives. On a continual basis, the CPO will assess the needs of each program and ensure that all objectives are met.
The CPO ensures that all interactions, interventions, and environments at The PLACE are trauma informed and emphasize the physical and emotional safety of youth and staff.
Program Management
Oversee the coordination, integration, and delivery of all programs and related services.
In partnership with program managers, establish annual goals for each program.
Monitor program performance with attention to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Provide subject matter expertise in serving youth experiencing homelessness.
Understand, guide, and participate in grant development, management, and compliance.
Serve as the internal expert on compliance issues, with focus on State Licensing and Federal RHY regulations.
Establish regular auditing procedures for monitoring site visits and program compliance.
Lead the development and management of program budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and efficient resource allocation.
Team Management
Provide the leadership necessary for your employees to be a high-performing team.
Build out your team as programs grow and make sure each team member is equipped with the tools they need to perform successfully.
Create goals for your team members and evaluate their success in achieving those goals.
Provide team members with opportunities to develop professional skills.
Coordinate organization-wide training to remain current with requirements and best practices.
Implement a review program with team members to maintain accountability throughout the team and track their progress.
Promote collaborative relationships between program areas while ensuring that the funder, partner, constituent, client, and stakeholder expectations are met.
Leadership
Work to raise awareness of The PLACE and issues of youth homelessness locally, regionally, and nationally.
Represent The PLACE on relevant committees/work groups and participate in speaking engagements, conference panels, and various training and outreach activities as needed.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into program development.
Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, funders, and relevant organizations.
Provide regular updates to organizational leadership and stakeholders on program performance.
Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Qualifications
This is a great opportunity for an individual with prior program management experience to build their skillset and program strategy to help The PLACE expand programs to meet the growing needs of the community.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree preferred OR equivalent education/experience.
6+ years of experience in program management, with at least 2 years of leadership experience.
Deep understanding of the nonprofit sector and how to run successful programs.
Prior experience in human services is required.
A proven track record of success in creating, executing, and evaluating programs.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to build a strong team and provide that team with the proper training and development programs they will need to succeed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in data collection and reporting technologies
Self-starter, able to lead a team, and committed to their programs; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
Must pass pre-employment TB screening
Equivalent education/experience can substitute for all qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Benefits:
Salary range is $75,000-$95,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents The PLACE’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
