Associate Principal (Higher Education) - Position Summary
Our key client, an A&D firm based in Baltimore, is looking for a Senior level Architect Project Manager with design and management experience in the higher education arena. This individual will join as an Associate Principal OR may come in as a Project Manager and will be fast tracked to become an Associate Principal.
The ideal team member will manage, organize and coordinate with the design and technical project teams throughout the design process to successfully execute architectural projects. You will also work closely with the executive team to manage clients and build a healthy practice taking full charge of all operations.
Associate Principal - Responsibilities
Manages clients and studio responsibilities
Understands project design philosophy and communicates it to team.
Contributes to technical design, coordination, and quality control.
Finds creative solutions, conducts research, and documents findings.
Collaborates with consultants for integrated project deliverables.
Prepares design and construction documents.
Ensures accurate project documentation.
Advances document production in line with project requirements.
Keeps updated on building technology.
Reviews drawings and materials for design compliance.
Mentors younger architects and designers
Associate Principal - Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
Registered Architect preferred
10+ years of experience in the Architectural field
Experience with Higher Education projects is preferred
Demonstrated leadership and experience with project teams
Experience participating in client meetings and sub-consultant coordination
Strong Revit skills
Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations
LEED credentials are a plus
