Job Description Job Description Our client, a prominent boutique law firm in Center City, Philadelphia, is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Legal Assistant to join the team!
The ideal candidate has experience in the following areas: knowledge of the Philadelphia court rules and filing procedures, personal injury, and medical malpractice experience.
A successful candidate will be able to provide assistance during all phases of the litigation process including legal intake, preparation of documents, keeping all statutes, court events and appointments on calendars, filing correspondence, and working as a team member in the office. This legal assistant will work directly with a shareholder in the firm and their paralegal as a team. Duties include, but are not limited to: Initial client intakes, including assisting in investigation, and case assessments.
Filling and service of pleadings, motions, and all court documents.
Maintaining organized and indexed files.
Gathering medical records, organization of records to download, and indexing.
Interaction with experts and sending docs for review.
Calendar and schedule management, keeping track of deadlines with accuracy.
Qualifications: 5+ years of proven working experience as a legal assistant.
Applicable PA, Philadelphia knowledge of motions, discovery, documentation, court rules procedures, practices. NJ knowledge a plus.
Highly organized with ability to juggle deadlines.
Extensive knowledge of service procedures.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Case management system knowledge.
Extensive computer expertise.
Dictaphone experience is a plus.
High energy, intelligence, integrity, self-motivated, and a team player.
