We are looking for a motivated individual with a background in Construction or Property Insurance that wants to grow WITH our fast-growing company. You must be organized, willing to learn, have impeccable customer service and communication skills, and be professional.

The Construction Estimator position will work primarily in residential construction, commercial potential based on past experience. The ideal candidate will have some knowledge in the insurance or insurance claims industry. Duties will include outlining scope of work and communicating to the appropriate departments, setting budgets, writing line-item estimates and negotiating pricing. This position will have a strong focus on Collections.

Construction Estimator Responsibilities:

Prepare line item estimates using Xactimate or Company provided software based on field photos or measurements.

Familiarity with property insurance standards or guidelines preferred.

Utilize measurements and photo documentation provided by Project Managersto identify scope of work.

Review offers against job costs and negotiate as needed.

Work closely with the senior estimating team to achieve job costing targets.

Create job budgets based on department.

Obtain and manage bids from vendors or subcontractors.

Navigate and understand building codes.

Process paperwork and travel to job sites as necessary.

Complete timely and detailed updates within CRM software.

Prioritize collections on past due files, ensuring timely and effective resolution of outstanding accounts.

Skills & Qualifications:

Proficient in utilizing computers/computer software.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products including; Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Knowledge of the insurance industry including claims guidelines for water, weather, fire, and reconstruction.

Strong communication skills; ability to accurately and professionally communicate building codes or construction guidelines to those not in the industry.

Ability to independently problem solve, manage priorities, and resolve conflict.

Have high standards of professional conduct with clients, subcontractors, and other in-office employees.

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in insurance or construction related field.

Experience serving in a customer service role.

3+ years experience in construction estimating or similar role preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This position is primarily in-office. Candidate will be required to operate a computer up to 95% of the time.

Site inspections may be possible as needed, candidate would be required to complete site walk-through including; walking, standing, crouching, carrying/climbing ladder as needed.
